A 15-year-old Israeli Bedouin boy was critically injured today after he was shot near the Israeli-Egyptian border. The Israeli was being transported via helicopter to Beersheba’s Soroka Medical Center when he was pronounced dead.

An Israeli boy was fatally injured after being shot today (Tuesday) near the Israeli-Egyptian border. The Israeli was an employee of a civilian company that was hired by the Israeli Defense Ministry in order to perform maintenance work on the fence.
The Israeli, a 15-year-old Lakiya resident, was seriously injured in his back by a bullet that was fired from Egypt. He was transported via helicopter to Beersheba’s Soroka Medical Center. He was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.
The Israeli security establishment is investigating the incident. Sky News Arabia reported that an Egyptian security official said that the incident occurred due to an exchange of fire between smugglers and Egyptian Border Guard forces.
