Over the past several days, pictures of vandalism carried out by Israeli students in two Nazi concentration camps in Poland became viral. One of the students wrote the name of the school and date in one of the bunkers in the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp.

Another picture showed Hebrew writings at the Treblinka extermination camp. The school confirmed the authenticity of the first, but not the second, picture and established an investigating team to look into the matter. The education committee in the Knesset is expected to convene for a special meeting to discuss the matter.

The delegation included 85 students and accompanying adults, including the mayor. “We convened the children are trying to find out what happened,” stated the head of the delegation. “We don’t believe it…We still don’t know who did it. This is very serious to me- it’s horrible.”
