Paris this week hosted Milipol 2017, a worldwide technology event focusing on homeland security and featuring representatives from 54 countries. Israel sent the fifth largest delegation to the event.
Among the Israeli companies that displayed their cutting-edge technologies was Elbit Systems, which developed a facial recognition software that can identify suspects even as they walk down a busy street.
“If we have a watchlist and we want to find people in a crowd, on the street, this system will help us locate them,” Nir Mariash of Elbit Systems told i24news.
Many of the innovative products displayed in the event were designed to protect against vehicular terror attacks, which are becoming more and more common these days.
