Israeli Minister of Interior Aryeh Deri will be questioned on Monday on suspicion of corruption offenses. Deri’s wife will also be questioned at the same time, separately, following Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit’s approval.
The main focus of the investigation is Deri’s inter-family real estate transactions. It is suspected that Deri illegally transferred an apartment building in Kiryat Shaul to his brother. It is also suspected that the minister built a villa with ‘black money’. The affair also involves a trial in Germany of billionaire James Schlaff, who allegedly transferred money to Deri’s brother.
