Today (Wednesday), Chairman of the Joint Arab List Ayman Odeh stated that his party will boycott the speech of US Vice President Mike Pence in the Knesset following the US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
“We will convey a clear message to the American administration and the world that there are citizens here who strongly oppose Trump’s declaration,” Odeh stated. “In order to clarify that the United States has lost its role as the exclusive mediator in the peace negotiations. West Jerusalem will be recognized by the entire world as the capital of Israel right after the Israeli government recognizes East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state.”

MK Ahmad Tibi explained the decision: Pence is a representative of the administration which has completely adopted the narrative of the Israel, including regarding the matter of Jerusalem. Him and Trump have ignored the national rights of the Palestinian nation and damaged both Muslims and Christians.”
As reported earlier by JOL, the keyholder of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem has stated that he will not meet Pence when he arrives to the region next week.
