Speaker of the Knesset Yariv Levin delivered an emotional speech at the Knesset on Tuesday, during which he praised, in Arabic, the leader of the United Arab Emirates and the King of Bahrain ahead of the signing of the peace agreements with Israel.

“For more than 25 years now, the dream of expanding the circle of peace in the Middle East seemed impossible to many. The assumption was that only far-reaching concessions of parts of the homeland will make it possible to break the circle of hostility towards Israel. However, Israel’s insistence on its right to the Land, along with the might Israel has accumulated, joined together so that our hand that is extended in peace will be answered by bold leaders who have done what many before them knew was right, but did not dare to do.”

“From here I wish to congratulate acting leader of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman al-Khalifa for their decision to sign today a peace agreement with Israel. An agreement that will lead to prosperity, a strong economy, tourism and trade relations between the countries and a crucial contribution to stability and security in our region.”

“The moving ceremony that will take place shortly at the White House is a direct result of the courageous and groundbreaking policy led by President Donald Trump since he began his term in the White House. I wish to thank President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, Advisor to the President Jared Kushner, US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and all those who were a part of this important breakthrough.”

“Oseh shalom bimromav, Hu ya’aseh shalom aleynu ve’al kol yisrael, ve’imru Amen (He who makes peace in his high places, He shall make peace upon us, and upon all of Israel, and say Amen).”
