Border crossings between Israel and the Palestinian territories will not open on Sunday due to a labor dispute, preventing 70,000 Palestinian workers from entering Israel.
Employees of the Defense Ministry’s Border Crossing Authority have taken a series of organizational steps in the last days over the failure to reach an agreement with the government to match their work conditions to the high level of risk their job involves.
The Histadrut, Israel’s labor union organization, said the Finance Ministry recently backtracked from agreements reached with the workers.
