The letter that Stefan Dilmetz, an SS official at the Auschwitz concentration camp, wrote a letter to his friend Ludwig Fitterling in April 1944 was revealed today (Monday) at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum in Oswiecim, Poland.

The letter, which was dated April 1, 1944, was given to the museum by an anonymous donor after the museum appealed to the citizens of Germany and Austria, requesting that any documents, photographs or private letters related to SS members at Auschwitz be donated to the museum.
