The 41-year-old, who suffered from a history of drug and alcohol addiction, was found dead in his private residence in Los Angeles around 9AM (Los Angeles time). The local police confirmed his death.

The Phoenix-born singer suffered from a tough childhood. “When I was young, getting beaten up and pretty much raped was no fun,” he said in a 2011 interview with the Guardian. “My God, no wonder I became a drug addict. No wonder I just went completely insane for a little while.”
A couple of months ago, the rock band released their latest album One More Light and planned to start touring the US next week.
Oh dear God. Massive R.I.P to Chester Bennington of @linkinpark this BREAKS OUR HEART. Suicide is the devil on earth walking amongst us
