The eye-witness accounts from the scene in London corroborate the Metropolitan Police’s decision to investigate the car ramming incident as a terror attack. “Within a minute, a van with speed turned to where we were and ran over the man who was laying on the floor and the people around him,” said an eye-witness.

The Metropolitan Police stated on Monday morning that it is investigating the car ramming incident outside of a mosque in London as a terror attack because all of the evidence is pointing to a terrorist motive. Meanwhile, an eye-witness said that he heard the terrorist yell, “I want to kill all Muslims.”
“In seconds, this terrible thing happened,”’ the eye-witness told the Press Association. “Literally within a minute, a van with speed turned to where we were and ran over the man who was laying on the floor and the people around him, around eight people or 10 people got injured, some of them seriously.”

Other eye-witnesses said that the imam from the mosque was the one who protected the terrorist from the enraged mob until the security forces arrived. Toufik Kacimi, chief executive of the Muslim Welfare House, said that Imam Mohammed Mahmoud’s “bravery and courage helped calm the immediate situation after the incident and prevented further injuries and potential loss of life.”
As reported earlier by JOL, one person was murdered and 10 more were injured early Monday morning after a commercial vehicle plowed into a group of Muslim worshippers who had just finished their Ramadan services at a mosque in Finsbury Park. Scotland Yard announced that the suspect has been arrested. The Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command is in charge of the investigation. “Police have confirmed this is being treated as a potential terrorist attack,” stated British Prime Minister Theresa May, who added that she would be chairing an emergency meeting.
