Miss Israel 1984, Sapir Kofman Papouchado, passed away Thursday morning at the age of 53 after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband and three children.

Kofman Papouchado was crowned Miss Israel during her IDF service. She represented Israel in the Miss Universe pageant and the Miss Europe competition. She was the first Israeli to participate in the European contest. She worked as a model for about a decade, traveling around the world for campaigns.

She left the industry in 1994 after she married her husband at the age of 30 and decided to dedicate her life to raising their children and philanthropic work. She lived in Kfar Shmaryahu.
