Hours after a heated discussion took place during a Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee meeting, in which the members discussed the Suspension Law, MK Ayman Odeh accused ministers and MKs of murder: “Dichter sent people to murder Arafat, Ahmed Yassin and al-Rantisi.” Dichter: “Odeh is a Hamas representative.”

MK Ayman Odeh responded angrily to the approval of a controversial law during a Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee meeting, arguing that “only the public that elected me can dismiss me.” During a Channel 2 news interview that took place alongside the committee chairman MK Nissan Slomiansky, Odeh said that it is not right that the suspension weapon is directed at the MKs from his political party- including Zoabi, Zahalka and Ghattas who met with the families of terrorists- while “people who murdered Arabs with their own hands serve in the government and the Knesset.”

Odeh focused his accusation on MK Avi Dichter, former Shin Bet director: “MKs sent people to murder the leadership of the Palestinian people- Dichter sent people to murder Arafat, as well as Ahmed Yassin and al-Rantisi, and he is in the Knesset. [He] sent people to murder people.”

MK Dichter stated in response: “I’m proud of the opportunity I was given to defend the citizens of Israel, including Israeli Arabs and Odeh himself, from murderous terrorism that was backed by those people who Odeh defended. With this unfortunate remark, Odeh turned himself into a representative of the Hamas leadership in the Israeli Knesset and abandoned the security of the Israeli citizens- Jews and Arabs alike.”
