Hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today (Friday) that the Israeli Communications Ministry will be under the leadership of Regional Cooperation Minister Tzachi Hanegbi for the next three months, opposition members began to criticize Netanyahu’s decision.
“The prime minister’s announcement about handing over the communications portfolio to Hanegbi for three months is ignoring the fact known in advance,” said Opposition leader Isaac Herzog. “Bibi will not remain the communications minister. Period. I will continue to fight this.” MK Yoel Hasson (Zionist Camp) also condemned the decision: “At this rate, we will consider petitioning the Israeli Supreme Court about how many portfolios Hanegbi holds.”
MK Mickey Rosenthal (Zionist Camp) claimed that the temporary transfer of authority will not change the situation and Netanyahu will continue to lead the Israeli Communications Ministry: “Don’t buy into the bluff.”
