The IDF’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories attacked Hamas on his Facebook page, claiming that the terror group is stealing electricity from Gazans and profiting from selling diesel at exorbitant prices. “The terror organization continues to steal from you,” the general wrote. “It is the reverse Robin Hood- stealing from the poor and enriching the rich.”

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories with the IDF, Maj. Gen. Yoav (Poli) Mordechai, published a post on his Facebook page in which he appealed to the residents of the Gaza Strip and attacked Hamas following the electricity and fuel crisis.
“How does the corrupt terrorist organization Hamas steal money from the electric company in Gaza and get rich from the sale of diesel fuel at the expense of the Gazans?” Mordechai asked at the beginning of the post. “In the last 18 days, the electric company in Gaza purchased 7 million liters of diesel fuel for NIS 21.1 million. 65% of that quantity went to the power station and the rest were confiscated by Hamas and sold in the private market.”
Mordechai claimed that Hamas is selling the fuel for more money than its worth and thus is harming Gazan civilians. “Instead of selling the diesel at its real price (NIS 3 per liter), Hamas sold it at a higher price- NIS 4.37 per liter- and saved all of the profits without compensating the electric company,” he wrote. “Hamas earned a net profit of NIS 10.8 million from funds stolen from the public and from the electric company in Gaza.”
Mordechai continued to explain that Hamas sold the diesel to the private sector for one shekel less than its market price, in an obvious ploy to make it seem like the organization was helping the people, but explained that Hamas actually preferred to steal the money rather than invest it in the electricity supply. “The terror organization continues to steal from you,” he wrote. “It is the reverse Robin Hood- stealing from the poor and enriching the rich.”
