Netanyahu accused the Palestinian Authority Chairman of lying to Trump: “I heard President Abbas yesterday say that they teach their children peace. That’s unfortunately not true. They name their schools after mass murderers of Israelis and they pay terrorists.”

After JOL reported on the meeting last night between US President Donald Trump and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded for the first time. In a meeting with Romanian Prime Minister Sorin Grindaunu, Netanyahu stressed that he is always ready for true and genuine peace but he attacked Abbas, who he emphasized falsely claimed that he is educating Palestinian children for peace.
“That’s unfortunately not true,” he proclaimed. “They name their schools after mass murderers of Israelis and they pay terrorists.” Netanyahu stressed that he hopes Trump’s meeting with Abbas will “achieve a change” that will “allow Israelis to pursue genuine peace.”
“I look forward to discussing with President Trump the best ways to advance peace,” Netanyahu added. “This is something we fervently share with the president.”
