On Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with US President Donald Trump at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. This will mark the fourth meeting between the two since Trump took office a year ago. Their meeting follows US Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to Israel earlier this week.
Trump met Netanyahu for the first time during his presidency in February in Washington D.C. They met again in Israel in May 2017 during Trump’s first visit to Israel as President. The two most recently met in September 2017 in New York.
During their last meeting, Trump discussed his hopes to establish a peace plan between Israel and the Palestinians. Netanyahu had hoped to discuss the Iranian threat to Israel and the Iran nuclear deal.
On Wednesday, Netanyahu will arrive in Davos for the forum and will be meeting with several world leaders such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron. Netanyahu stated that this is a good opportunity to discuss the revision of the Iran deal.
Netanyahu and Trump are to both give keynote speeches during the forum. Netanyahu’s keynote speech will be on Thursday and Trump’s keynote speech will be on Friday.
