Today (Wednesday), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu established a special team that will promote a new settlement in place of Amona. “The team will include settlement representatives, the Assistant Secretary of Defense on Settlements Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff,” Netanyahu’s office published.

The team will begin working immediately in order to find a location and establish a settlement,” the Prime Minister office stated only hours after the Israeli High Court rejected the Amona compromise according to which Amona residents would be moved to a nearby plot of land.

The statement was revealed after Netanyahu signed an agreement to build a new settlement in the Regional Council of Mateh Binyamin for the citizens of Amona in case the compromise failed. This means that in 2 months, the settlement will begin construction.
