Dvir Sorek, a 19-year-old Israeli soldier, was found stabbed dead this morning at the entrance to Kibbutz Migdal Oz in the West Bank’s Gush Etzion.
Prime Minister visited the scene of the terrorist attack today and said, “The land of Israel is acquired through suffering. We lost Dvir here, a dear son of the Sorek family who also lost his grandfather here a few years ago. Our hearts are with them and we embrace them during these difficult times.
“I come from the Kirya now, where I received regular updates, including the GSS advance. Our answer to the killers is twofold: they come to ruin and we will build.We see here the turn the car did after the crime and the murder. In recent years, the security forces led by the GSS have found all the murderers. We will reach those who perpetrated this horrific murder and bring them to account, as well as those who sent them,” Netanyahu said
In Migdal Oz, large numbers of police, soldiers and members of the Shin Bet, are crisscrossing the area where the body was found.
Dozens of soldiers and police have entered the town of Beit Fajjar, a Palestinian town located eight kilometers south of Bethlehem. They aregoing from house to house to get their hands on security cameras. These records could be used to identify the movements of potential suspects.
The young man was part of a special IDF program that combined religious study and military service. Dvir was kidnapped in the middle of the night while on his was on his way back to his yeshiva.
