The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality has launched another initiative aimed at making life cheaper and more community-centered for its residents. Tel Aviv, which has already been named one of the most innovative cities in the world, is now featuring a library of things filled with equipment that households in the city need on an irregular basis.
The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality has launched its first library of things in the heart of the city. The library is filled with equipment that households in the city need on an irregular basis. According to the municipality, various items such as drills, picnic tables, parasols, camping equipment and pet carriers will be available for rent in exchange for a symbolic contribution of 10 NIS (less than 3 dollars).
The municipality collaborated with the residents of the Florentin neighborhood in order to stock the library. With the help of “Florentin Tel & Take” and other projects, the municipality is trying to turn Tel Aviv into a more sustainable city. By using a sharing economy tool, the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality is attempting to make life cheaper and more community-centered for its residents.
