Some 10,000 Israelis traveled to the Upper Galilee to spend the weekend in its watery springs, the Upper Galilee Regional Council reported.

The council further stated that the most popular touristic site was the Banias Spring, whose water flow into the Jordan River.

On the Lebanon Beach of the Sea of Galilee, a cleaning campaign took place today. Vacationers who picked up trash from the beach were given free parking. By noon, hundreds of bags full of trash had been removed from the beach.

The many Israelis were taking advantage of the slight relief of the hot weather. Next week, it will be getting hotter.
