Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas told a delegation of former Israeli lawmakers on Sunday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu isn’t interested in promoting peace negotiations.

“Netanyahu doesn’t want to renew the peace process, he thinks I’m going to stay here and guard the occupation,” Abbas told the members of the delegation, who visited him as part of a new initiative to promote a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Abbas also addressed the reconciliation deal between Hamas and Fatah, vowing that he will not have a single Hamas minister sit in his government without recognizing Israel.
