This evening (Tuesday), Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman spoke against the reported reconciliation efforts between the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Hamas and stated that it is a cynical political attempt to mobilize public opinion on the streets: “The reconciliation between the PA and Hamas is an attempt to blame the other for whatever isn’t working.”
According to the minister, Israel continued to follow the developments, although he believes an agreement won’t come around, especially after hearing that the parties will attempt to share Gaza. “Abu Mazen (Abbas) says that he won’t go along with a Lebanese model, he says that if the PA provides the civil service it will also control the region.”
