Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met separately with Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney and Dutch Foreign Minister Halbe Zijlstra on Wednesday. During the meetings, he told the senior European diplomats that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas must condemn last night’s terror attack in which an Israeli father of six was murdered.

In addition, Netanyahu called on Abbas to stop financing terrorists and their families. “Prime Minister Netanyahu said that herein lies the true root of the conflict – the refusal to recognize the State of Israel within any borders whatsoever along with the encouragement of the murder of Israelis,” Netanyahu’s office stated.

Hundreds of people attended on Wednesday the funeral of last night’s terror victim, Rabbi Raziel Shevach. He was buried in Havat Gilad even though the outpost lacks a cemetery, becoming the first person to be buried in the small community.

During his eulogy, Israeli Education Minister Naftali Bennett called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold a Security Cabinet meeting in light of the terror attack. “You guys [Havat Gilad residents], the pioneers, are doing your work, and now it is our turn in the government to do our work,” Bennett said. Bennett’s speech was interrupted by mourners who booed him and repeatedly shouted out the word “revenge.”

“The terrorists who murdered Rabbi Raziel Shevach were aware of ‘the terror price list’ of Abu Mazen [Abbas] and knew how much money the will receive for the murder,” Bennett wrote on Twitter this morning. “In order to eradicate the terror industry, it’s not enough to catch the terrorists, but rather [we] need to advance the settlement establishment. The regularization and construction of Havat Gilad is the most deterring price that can be collected from the terrorists to prevent the next murder.”
