On Thursday, a panel of three judges gave the verdict against the Halamish terrorist, Omar al-Abed, four life sentences in prison. The Salomon family, who suffered the murder of three family members by Abed, stated, “he should have been sentenced to death.”

The panel of judges voted 2-1 on the four life sentences. Judge Dov Gilboa voted to sentence the terrorist to death. The Salomon family criticized the verdict, including Dan Landa, father of widowed Michal Salomon who lost her husband in the terror attack, stating “The State of Israel shows no determination in the war against terror.”

As previously reported by JOL, Judge Gilboa stated “I’ve watched him smile and enjoy himself all through the trial,” Gilboa added. “He even did more of that in front of the family members (of the victims) during his conviction. Therefore, I rule that the defendant’s punishment is death.”

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman also called for the terrorist to receive the death sentence stating, “No number of life sentences will be enough to punish this horrible human who sits in court with a smile on his face. My heart aches for the Salomon family.”
