An 18-year-old woman from Bethlehem was detained by IDF soldiers on Thursday at the nearby Rachel Crossing after threatening to attack them. The Israeli soldiers found a knife in her bag.

The Israel Police stated, “Each and every day, unauthorized individuals are denied entry in order to foil any attempt to smuggle cold weapons or firearms that can be used to carry out a terror attack.”

On Tuesday, Israel’s Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot visited Jewish settlement near Hebron. “Around 20-30 attacks are foiled each week,” Lieberman said. “Our security system works very hard in order for us to be able to celebrate Purim calmly. I’m glad the citizens of Israel don’t feel it.”
