The military court on Monday sentenced Amjad Khamed, a member of Hamas, to life imprisonment for his involvement in the murder of Malachi Rosenfeld in a 2015 terror attack.
Khamed was also ordered to pay 325,000 shekels in compensation to the victim’s family as well as fine of 25,000 shekels. Apart from the murder of Rosenfeld, he was also found guilty of the attempted murder of three other Israelis injured in the attack – Hananel Cohen, Yair Hooper and Shai Maimon.
Rosenfeld was killed when terrorists fired from their vehicle at him and three other Israelis in the West Bank settlement of Shvut Rachel. He remained fatally wounded for a few days before dying in the hospital.
A month after the attack, police captured and arrested the perpetrators, who had carried out additional terror attacks in the past.
