As tens of thousands of Palestinians demonstrate near the Israeli-Gazan border, IDF spokesperson Ronen Manelis warned against additional terror attack attempts: “If there is a terror attack, our response will not just be along the border.” Meanwhile, Palestinian media outlets claim that eight protesters were killed during the “March of Return.”

IDF spokesperson Ronen Manelis commented on the massive protests near the Israeli-Gazan border on Friday evening as Jewish families across Israel gathered for the Passover seder. According to the senior Israeli military official, tens of thousands of Palestinians are still demonstrating near the border.
Manelis confirmed that several Palestinian protesters were killed today, adding that everyone was between the ages of 18 and 30. “Among them were two central members of Hamas’ special armed force,” he explained. Less than an hour ago, Palestinian media outlets claimed that the death toll has risen to eight.
According to Manelis, the IDF troops are responding with fire when protesters attempt to tamper with the security fence. “The only ones who were hit were those who tried to harm the fence,” he explained.
“Hamas is cynically using children—including the seven-year-old girl who was sent to the fence,” he added. “This shows that Hamas has lost its way.”

Manelis stated that no injuries have been reported among the IDF soldiers and warned against additional terror attack attempts. “If there is a terror attack, our response will not just be along the border,” he stated.
