The “underground infrastructure” in Gaza that Israel destroyed early this morning was a terror tunnel, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman has confirmed. Liberman stressed that the IDF is prepared “for every scenario without any warning.”

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman stated on Monday that a Hamas terror tunnel was neutralized early this morning in response to the rocket fire from Gaza last night. “We destroyed a terror tunnel near Kerem Shalom in the night,” he told Yisrael Beiteinu MKs. “These events prove that the IDF is prepared for every scenario without any warning.”
Liberman stressed that the people residing along Israel’s northern and southern borders have nothing to fear. “You can go on with your normal routine and we are certainly prepared and doing everything in order to ensure that this normality continues,” he stressed.
The IDF announced earlier today that Israeli aircraft struck “underground infrastructure” in the southern Gaza Strip. “The IDF will continue to act in order to ensure the security of Israel civilians,” the army said in a statement. “Hamas is responsible for everything happening in the Gaza Strip, above and below ground.”
The attack on the underground infrastructure comes just a day after Israel struck 18 Hamas targets in Gaza after a bomb exploded near the border, injuring four soldiers, and a rocket was fired at Israel, damaging a house. The IDF Spokesperson Unit tweeted regarding that attack, “IAF fighter jets targeted 6 military targets in Gaza belonging to Hamas, including: a terror tunnel in the Zaytun area & military compounds near Deir ElBalah & Khan Yunis.”
