Palestinian media sources have reported that two Palestinians were killed on Thursday during clashes with Israeli forces in the West Bank and Gaza.
One of the Palestinians, aged 16, was reportedly shot near the Palestinian village of Burin in the Nablus area; the other was reportedly killed during violent riots at the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. A third Palestinian is reportedly in critical condition. The IDF is looking into the authenticity of these reports.
Last month, Israel was accused of killing Ibrahim Abu Thurayyah, a Palestinian double amputee, during Gaza Strip clashes. Israel rejected these claims, saying there is no evidence to suggest that the man was killed from IDF fire.
“There’s no basis to the false reports claiming that a sniper targeted him intentionally,” Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, the IDF Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, said in December. “Despite what is being reported on social media and the Palestinian media, after a thorough and comprehensive IDF inquiry, I can say clearly that the inquiry did not reveal any information suggesting that Ibrahim Abu Thurayyah was killed by IDF fire.”
