At the Mezmuria checkpoint, near Har Homa, a Border Police officer shot and eliminated a terrorist who charged at him and his fellow officers with a knife.

2 attempted terror attack thwarted within 2 hours: Earlier today (Sunday), a reservist IDF unit thwarted a terror attack. The unit was patrolling near the Palestinian village of Araka. The reservist IDF soldiers noticed 2 Palestinians who were firing at them. The reservist IDF soldiers opened fire on the terrorists and eliminated them.
The incident started when Palestinians began throwing stones at the Security Fence in the area. The reservist IDF unit was rushed to the scene. When the unit arrived, shots were fired at them. The reservist IDF soldiers evacuated their vehicle, identified the source of the gun fire and fired counter-attacks.

The 2 terrorists were eliminated at the scene. After inspecting the area, a gun and knife were discovered near their bodies. No injuries were reported on the Israeli side.
Palestinian news agency Maan reported that a Palestinian Red Crescent spokesperson stated that the terrorists were only injured and that the IDF prevented Palestinian rescue forces from treating them. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the 2 have been identified as Nihad Raed Muhammad Waqed and Fuad Marwan Khalid Waqed. The terrorists were relatives and around 15-year-olds.

Around 1:00 PM, an attempted terror attack was reported at the Mezmuria checkpoint near Har Homa. While Border Police officers inspected a car that was traveling towards Jerusalem, a terrorist attempted to stab them. 1 of the Border Police officers noticed the terrorist and shot him. The terrorist was eliminated at the scene.
