The terrorist who was in charge of the cell that murdered Rabbi Raziel Shevach last month was eliminated on Tuesday morning, the Shin Bet has announced. Ahmad Nassar Jarrar was shot by Israeli security forces in an operation in the West Bank village of Al-Yamun.

The Shin Bet stated that Jarrar personally participated in the murder of the Israeli rabbi, a father of six. The IDF, Shin Bet, Israel Border Police forces were operating in the village to arrest Jarrar and had forces arrived at a building in which he was hiding. When 22-year-old Jarrar exited the building, the forces opened fire on him because he was armed with an M-16 rifle and a bag of explosive devices.

According to the Shin Bet, there is evidence indicating that Jarrar was involved in several attempts to carry out terror attacks. In addition, Israel’s internal security service stated that its investigators will continue to question the arrested terror cell members.

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman praised the Israeli forces that eliminated the mastermind behind the terror attack. “The account has been settled,” he wrote on Twitter. “It was clear that it was only a matter of time until we hit the head of the cell that murdered Rabbi Raziel Shevach, may his memory be a blessing.”

The manhunt for the terrorists involved in Shevach’s murder began immediately after the terror attack. About two weeks ago, a firefight took place between Israeli forces and the terrorists in Jenin. One of the terrorists was eliminated and a few others were arrested and taken in for questioning. Initially, it was reported that Jarrar was eliminated. However, it was later confirmed that he had fled the scene.

Meanwhile, the manhunt for the terrorist who murdered Itamar Ben-Gal yesterday in Ariel continues. The terrorist has been identified as a 19-year-old Jaffa resident who holds Israeli citizenship.
