During an interview Monday with the Al Arabiya news station, a Saudi minister made several hostile statements against Hezbollah and the Lebanese government amid the recent missile launch targeting Riyadh and the resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri. “We will treat the government of Lebanon as a government declaring a war because of Hezbollah militias,” Saudi Gulf Affairs Minister Thamer al-Sabhan stated, according to the news station’s English website. “We expect the Lebanese government to act to deter Hezbollah.”

Al-Sabhan also accused the Lebanese terrorist group of smuggling drugs into the kingdom and training young Saudis for terrorist attacks. Hariri, who resigned on Saturday, was informed by the Saudi authorities that the kingdom views the acts of aggression committed by the terrorist group as a declaration of war by Lebanon and the “Party of Satan [Hezbollah].”
