40,000 runners from Israel and abroad take part in 2018 Tel Aviv Marathon

The Tel Aviv Municipality says 40,000 runners, including a record-breaking 2,500 international runners, took part in the annual Tel Aviv Marathon on Friday morning. The race was won by Ernest Kebenei from Kenya.

About 40,000 runners from Israel and around the world participated in the 2018 Tel Aviv Marathon on Friday morning.

The Tel Aviv Municipality says 150,000 spectators were present to cheer on the runners from the sidelines. A record number of 2,500 international runners took part in the race.

This year’s winner is Ernest Kebenei from Kenya with a time of 2:19:53. The 10-km race was won by Ramzi Abdul Jabbar, a refugee from Darfur with Israeli citizenship.
