The US has agreed to transfer Jacob Alexander, the imprisoned ex-CEO of software company Comverse, to Israel, where he will serve the remainder of his jail sentence.
Alexander turned himself in to the US last year as part of a plea bargain after spending a decade in Namibia. He was charged with securities fraud and sentenced to 30 months in prison.
Israel’s Justice Minister recently approved Alexander’s request to be moved from the US to Israel. This is expected to happen within the next few weeks.
