Employees at Ben-Gurion Airport launched Thursday a surprise protest that has disrupted the airport’s operations. While flights are landing on schedule, dozens of departures have been delayed. However, it appears that the protest will eventually affect incoming flights.
The airport management is planning to file a complaint at a labor court and demand that the workers immediately stop their protest.
Last month, Border control officials at Ben-Gurion Airport, Ovda Airport and the Taba border crossing disrupted the flow of tourists, businesspeople and Israelis leaving and entering the country. According to the officials, there is a shortage of about 200 border control employees and they took the actions in order to protest against the situation.
