IDF tanks targeted Hamas posts after several explosive devices detonated along the Gaza barrier wall on Thursday morning. There were no injuries from the explosions, according to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit. Palestinian reports said two people were killed in the IDF’s retaliatory attack.

There has been a recent wave of such incidents along the Gaza border. Earlier this month, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said Israeli troops disposed of a bomb placed near the Gaza border fence. the bomb was placed near the fence during riots two weeks earlier, after which a similar bomb exploded and injured four IDF soldiers. In both cases, the bombs were attached to a Palestinian flag meant to lure the soldiers closer to it.

On Tuesday, an explosion struck the convoy of Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah just as he was entering Gaza. The explosion occurred some 200 meters away from the Erez Border Crossing at the northern end of the Gaza Strip. Several people reportedly sustained minor injuries and Hamdallah was unharmed.
