On Sunday, hundreds of people attended the funeral of Ziv Daos, the 21-year-old IDF officer who was murdered in a terror attack on Friday afternoon near Mevo Dothan. Daos was the first fallen soldier of the IDF’s Home Front Command search and rescue unit.

He was promoted to the rank of captain after his death. His funeral was held at the military cemetery in Holon.

Netanel Kahalani, the 20-year-old soldier who was murdered in the attack, was laid to rest in Elyakim early Sunday morning. At the funeral, Kahalani’s father demanded that the terrorist who murdered his son be sentenced to death. “Destroying homes and feeding them [terrorists] at the expense of the state doesn’t help—we need to throw his family into the ocean,” he said. “If no decision is made, this will continue. It’s time for this to end. I don’t know if I should send my youngest son to the army. Maybe it’s better that he stays with me.”

Meanwhile, the condition of the IDF soldier who was seriously injured in the attack has stabilized. Beilinson Hospital said in a statement Sunday morning that the soldier is no longer in a life-threatening condition.
