Three rockets were fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip on Friday morning. Two of them were intercepted by the Iron Dome system and the third landed on top of a building in an Israeli town. No casualties were reported.

The shooting occurred during a ceremony marking the birthday of IDF soldier Oron Shaul, who was killed during the 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict and whose body is still held by Hamas.

A video from the ceremony, which took place close to the border, shows the very moment a red alert siren was sounded, triggering reactions of confusion and panic from the crowd.

In response to the rocket fire, IDF tanks and Israeli Air Force fighter jets attacked two Hamas targets in northern Gaza.

On Tuesday, JOL reported that top Israeli security officials had told the Security Cabinet that the current situation in Gaza resembles the one that existed just before Operation Protective Edge in 2014, warning that it might lead to a new military conflict with Hamas.
