Israeli President Reuven Rivlin rejected Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto’s clemency request, which was filed due to his deteriorating health. Pinto filed the request as he began to serve his sentence at the IPS Medical Facility in Ramla.

Today (Wednesday), Israeli President Reuven Rivlin rejected Orthodox Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto’s request for clemency.
Rabbi Pinto is serving his sentence in the Israeli Prison Service Medical Facility in Ramla, after he was convicted of bribery. In his request, Rabbi Pinto explained that he wishes to be granted clemency because of his weak state of health.
President Rivlin decided to accept Minister of Justice Ayelet Shaked’s advice to reject Pinto’s request.
