The annual memorial rally for former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin is scheduled to take place next month. Its organizers plan a non-partisan event, and are expected to ask six former IDF chiefs to participate.
The Commanders for Israel’s Security movement, in association with Darkenu, aspire to have all of the IDF’s living former chiefs – Ehud Barak, Shaul Mofaz, Moshe Yaalon, Dan Halutz, Gabi Ashkenazi and Benny Gantz – attend the rally.
It is not yet clear whether any of the former chiefs will agree to participate and under what conditions.
Rabin was assassinated November 4, 1995 at the end of a rally in Tel Aviv supporting the Oslo Accords.
