IDF and Border Police forces operated south of Mount Hebron in the West Bank on Wednesday night. In raids in the area, the forces seized a large assortment of firearms, ammunition, military equipment and knives.
The raided facility belongs to an arms dealer who was arrested on the spot along with five other suspects. They were all taken into questioning. In addition, IDF forces arrested an individual southwest of Hebron suspected of throwing 24 Molotov cocktails at Israeli security forces last month. Additional illegal firearms were seized in two other Palestinian towns in the West Bank.
As previously reported by JOL, a Palestinian terrorist was neutralized early Wednesday morning after stabbing a guard at the entrance to Karmei Tzur in Gush Etzion in the West Bank. The second guard on duty shot and eliminated the terrorist.
The terror attack is part of an increased wave of violence in the West Bank. Hamas, which has taken credit for some of the recent attacks, has welcomed the violence and stated that it is part of a continued response to US President Donald Trump’s decision to move the embassy to Jerusalem and declare the city as Israel’s capital.
