The Shin Bet stated on Saturday evening that 26-year-old Ala Qabha has confessed to intentionally ramming his vehicle into a group of soldiers on Friday afternoon as a terror attack. In addition, the security agency said that Qabha acted alone and that it appears that no one knew about his intentions.
During his interrogation, the Barta’a resident said that he noticed the group of soldiers and decided to target them. He then made a U-turn and sped toward them. The terrorist’s family originally dismissed the reports about the incident being a terror attack, claiming that Qabha accidentally hit the soldiers. A relative told Walla! News that Qabha is “a good guy who was in a car accident.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent his condolences to the families of the two servicemen who were murdered in the attack. “We will work to demolish the home of the terrorist and will deal with him to the fullest extent of the law,” he added.
An IDF officer and a soldier were killed and two additional soldiers were injured in a car-ramming attack adjacent to Mevo Dotan earlier today.
