A video published by CNN shows the massive destruction caused by ISIS in the Syrian city of Raqqa, one of the terrorist group’s last strongholds, shortly before US-backed Syrian forces liberated it.
The footage shows Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Humvees driving around Paradise Square, which became notorious for the countless beheading videos filmed in it. Destroyed buildings can be seen in the background.
According to human rights groups, about 3,250 people were killed in the battle for Raqqa, 1,130 of them civilians. The SDF said it will take control over the remaining locations in the city within the next hours.
