A security guard in a nursery in Brazil set himself on fire Thursday, killing five toddlers and injuring 15 others.
Police believe the man threw gasoline on himself and on children at the Innocent Children’s People Municipal Education Centre nursery in the town of Janaúba, and then set the fuel on fire. His motive is still unclear.
Lt. Col. John Aparecido Nascimento, the commander of the local military police, said the situation caused “a big commotion” in the city.
