A senior-level Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps official launched a particularly strong threat towards US President Donald Trump just a few hours before he is set to give a speech presenting Washington’s new policy regarding Iran. According to the Iranian official, the most recent threats made by Trump about Iran will lead the US to “regret”.

Just a few hours before US President Donald Trump’s highly anticipated speech, a senior-level Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) official made another threat today (Friday) saying that Tehran will make the US regret damaging the nuclear deal.
“We aren’t a war-mongering country, but any military threat to us will lead to regret,” said Quds Force Deputy Commander Ismail Ghaani to lranian news outlet Tanzim. “Trump’s threats will harm the US. We’ve buried many like him and we know how to fight America,” Ghaani added.

The Kremlin also addressed Trump’s scheduled speech stating earlier today that “if the US withdraws from the nuclear deal, Iran will also do so.” Russia also warned of the disastrous consequences that could occur as a result of Trump’s remarks this evening. During a telephone conversation between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Zarif, Lavrov made clear that his country is “committed to the nuclear deal and is determined to implement it on the ground.”
As reported earlier by JOL just ahead of Trump’s speech, the White House issued a statement saying that the new, “tougher” strategy will focus on “neutralizing the government of Iran’s destabilizing influence and constraining its aggression, particularly its support for terrorism and militants.”
