ISIS has claimed responsibility for the Sunday stabbing attack in Marseille, France, which claimed the lives of two women. According to the French media, the suspect is a man of North African descent who was known to law enforcement for petty crimes.
French Interior Minister Gérard Collomb said that the terrorist fatally stabbed one of the women and then seemed to be fleeing the scene. However, he suddenly stabbed the second woman and ran toward police officers, who eliminated him.
Police sources stated that the terrorist, who was in his 30s, shouted “Allahu Akbar” while he attacked the women, aged 17 and 20. According to reports, the terrorist used a butcher knife.
