ISIS has released over the past week a series of propaganda posters apparently aimed at frightening soccer fans ahead of the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup set to take place in Russia. After initially featuring soccer star Lionel Messi, ISIS has released a new poster threatening Neymar.

After threatening former Barcelona soccer player Lionel Messi earlier this week, ISIS has now issued a threat against soccer player Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior ahead of the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The Islamist terrorist organization has posted a new propaganda poster showing a photoshopped image of Neymar on his knees, crying as a man dressed in all black, holding a knife stands behind him.
“You will not enjoy security until we live in Muslim countries,” read the poster. Also seen in the poster’s foreground, Messi’s beheaded body. This new poster was released a few days after Messi had already been featured in a propaganda poster where he is seen crying a tear of blood from behind bars.

In an apparent attempt to frighten soccer fans and players, a previous image showed an armed terrorist standing near a soccer stadium in Russia with a chilling message: “I swear that the Mujahideen’s fire will burn you… just you wait.” It appears that the threats from ISIS against the World Cup are a response to its defeat in recent battles in Syria and Iraq.

The World Cup games will take place in June and July of next year throughout 11 cities in Russia. In April, ISIS carried out a terror attack in Saint Petersburg, Russia’s second-largest city, in which14 people were murdered.
Earlier this month, ISIS released another propaganda poster featuring pictures of Trump and Putin as shooting targets in an attempt to encourage its supporters to carry out attacks against the two leaders.
