The UK is expecting a grand event as the royal family announced the engagement of Prince Harry and American girlfriend Meghan Markle. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin took the opportunity to invite the royal couple to Israel for their honeymoon.

Prince Harry and girlfriend Meghan Markle are engaged, Prince Charles of Wales announced in an official statement on Monday. The royal wedding of the 33-year-old prince and 36-year-old American actress is expected to take place in the spring of 2018.
“The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle,” read the statement. “Prince Harry has informed her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family.”
The couple’s announcement was happily received in their respective countries as well as around the world, and the blessings came soon thereafter. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin invited the couple to enjoy their honeymoon in Israel. “Mazal Tov to HRH Prince Harry and fiancé Meghan Markle. Sending our warmest regards to Her Majesty the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, all the Royal Family and the British people, from Nechama and me, and all the Israeli people,” the president tweeted on Monday. “We invite them to enjoy their honeymoon in Israel!”
The social networks were abuzz about the topic. The relationship between the two has been in the spotlight for quite a while and many anticipated an upcoming engagement. Some stories highlighted Markle’s middle-class background as a sign of progress in the British monarchy while others took the opportunity to delve into the debate whether the monarchy should continue to exist.
