The US Navy’s 7th fleet announced Tuesday that a second aircraft carrier had entered the western Pacific amid rising tensions with North Korea.

The announcement follows a series of missile and nuclear tests by Pyongyang. According to Fox News, USS Theodore Roosevelt left its home port in San Diego earlier this month.

Commanding officer Capt. Carlos Sardiello said, “When a carrier leaves on deployment, we have to be ready for anything.”
