On Friday, it was revealed that war criminal Slobodan Praljak used potassium cyanide to kill himself after his 20-year sentence was upheld at the UN’s International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. According to Dutch prosecutors, the preliminary findings from the toxicological test that was conducted on Praljak’s body show that he had potassium cyanide in his blood. It is still unclear how Praljak managed to obtain the poison.
After the ruling was announced, Praljak yelled at one of the judges, stood up, drank a small bottle and then told the stunned people in the courtroom that he had consumed poison. The hearing was immediately suspended and Praljak was rushed to the hospital.
